[The microphone clicks on and almost immediately you can hear Kurama sigh.  When he speaks, his voice is muffled at first, as though his arm is in the way.]

Kuro lost.  And he's hurt.  Not as badly as he was a month ago, but... Angie-san, can you get another hop to come and examine him for me?  I've already treated most of it myself, but a second opinion would be... comforting.

[There's a shuffle of fabric as he pauses, then his voice sounds wooden.]

It's down to Enki now.  The sparring partner to a dead King of Makai.  He's the only one standing between Mukuro and the throne.  Tomorrow morning is the final round.  Yuusuke is still unconscious.

Things are not looking good for us.

Yesterday were the preliminaries of the tournament. Things went about as expected, except for Chuu throwing his match for falling in love with the last combatant. So much for his drive to have a rematch with Yuusuke, I suppose.

Kuro was as well remembered and recived as I thought. Kuro-mine, just how many dropped out of the tournement when they realized they were in your bracket?

So far Touya, myself, Kuronue, Yuusuke, Suzuki, Hokushin, Yomi, Mukuro, Yomi, Shishiwakamaru, Rinku, Hiei, Raizen's former sparring partners, Jin, and I beleive Trish have made it into the tournement proper. Oh, and Shigure, though I had thought Hiei had killed him.

Yomi arrived at the tournement with his... son... in tow, who also fought in the preliminaries. I do have to say, the boy is amazingly stubbron, certainly his father's son. I think he was close to willing to die to defeat Yomi, but he thankfully surrendered when he realized he couldn't do it, not yet. He has the potiental I think, however.

The fights start again soon, with Shishiwakamaru vs Hokushin, Jin vs... one of Raizen's old friends, I forget his name at the moment. Touya, you have a fight today as well, correct?

[There's a light chuckle as the mike switches on.]

Only Yuusuke. [The sound of a squeaky chair as he sits. His voice sounds amused and somewhat fond.] Only Yuusuke would come up with something so... outlandish. An election in the Makai. Raizen is likely laughing his head off, if only for the look on Yomi's face. Fighting for the rule of the Makai...

[Tuts softly] Not a job I particurally want, but I'll fight to keep it from Yomi and Mukuro.

Yuusuke, I trust Hokishin survived the heart attack you gave him for "vandalizing" the national treasure?

[Locked to self/Expect hackers and Kaito and Yusuke if they want only]

[Voice is no longer as fond, sounding almost tired.] It's been hell, this past month. A few days after my arrival -- which was a fight for my life about as expected -- Yomi brought me to his holding cells.

[A deep sigh] He captured my assassin. Tortured him. Blinded him. Refused to kill him. Not until he confessed the identity of the one that hired him.

[A small touch of anger enters his voice.] He brought it on himself! They both did! Yomi for forgetting his place and the assassin for not doing his job properly! He should have died! No one challenges me like that and lives!

[An audiable inhale, as though he's trying to calm himself.] Lesson learned. Don't sleep with the underlings. They get full of themselves, start acting out and challening you for leadership and you have to kill them.

At least I was able to secure my position as Yomi's second until Yuusuke's plan went into effect.

Oh, and no one possesses my brother.
