[The microphone clicks on and almost immediately you can hear Kurama sigh.  When he speaks, his voice is muffled at first, as though his arm is in the way.]

Kuro lost.  And he's hurt.  Not as badly as he was a month ago, but... Angie-san, can you get another hop to come and examine him for me?  I've already treated most of it myself, but a second opinion would be... comforting.

[There's a shuffle of fabric as he pauses, then his voice sounds wooden.]

It's down to Enki now.  The sparring partner to a dead King of Makai.  He's the only one standing between Mukuro and the throne.  Tomorrow morning is the final round.  Yuusuke is still unconscious.

Things are not looking good for us.

[We have a very close close up of Kurama's eyes before he steps back. He's looking quite a bit better than he did after his battle, though his arm is still bandaged and he's got a few bandaids on his face. He crosses his arms and looks sternly at the camera.]

I'm going to get this out of the way. While I'm thankful for those of you who were concerned about my well being, you really did not need to worry. I fully intended to go to the medical wing after Hiei's fight. Touya, I believe you were there when I said it.

Now, to matters that actually do matter. As you have likely heard, Hiei lost his battle to Mukuro, and Yuusuke has lost to Yomi. Yuusuke is currently unconscious in the medical wing as we speak, and has been since his loss. This puts us in a very...[He shakes his head, knowing that Yuusuke would not be pleased with him saying this] undesirable position. In fact, it makes myself and Kuronue as the only two standing between them and rulership of the Makai. Unless you count Natsumi, Enki, and some unknown, no name demon that Yomi's next battle is with. I can only hope that the next two or so days prove fortunate.

[He shakes his head again, then glances off to the side for a moment. When he glances back at the camera, he has a highly devious look on his face.] My next battle is with Kuronue. This will be quite... [He pauses expectantly, as though for dramatics' sake] interesting. We even have a bet riding on it. Cheer for me to strike first blood, everyone. [He winks, and then the screen goes black]

Yesterday were the preliminaries of the tournament. Things went about as expected, except for Chuu throwing his match for falling in love with the last combatant. So much for his drive to have a rematch with Yuusuke, I suppose.

Kuro was as well remembered and recived as I thought. Kuro-mine, just how many dropped out of the tournement when they realized they were in your bracket?

So far Touya, myself, Kuronue, Yuusuke, Suzuki, Hokushin, Yomi, Mukuro, Yomi, Shishiwakamaru, Rinku, Hiei, Raizen's former sparring partners, Jin, and I beleive Trish have made it into the tournement proper. Oh, and Shigure, though I had thought Hiei had killed him.

Yomi arrived at the tournement with his... son... in tow, who also fought in the preliminaries. I do have to say, the boy is amazingly stubbron, certainly his father's son. I think he was close to willing to die to defeat Yomi, but he thankfully surrendered when he realized he couldn't do it, not yet. He has the potiental I think, however.

The fights start again soon, with Shishiwakamaru vs Hokushin, Jin vs... one of Raizen's old friends, I forget his name at the moment. Touya, you have a fight today as well, correct?
